Nick Dempsey won the 2009 RS:X World Championships after a stunning performance in front of his home crowd in Weymouth and then repeated the victory at the 2011 Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta. Nick has a strong competitive record at home and will be looking to extend that run when the Olympics come to Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy as part of London 2012. A bronze medallist in Athens in 2004, Nick was narrowly denied a repeat of that success four years later in Beijing where he finished in an agonising fourth place. In September 2011, Nick was given the chance to shine again, as he was selected to represent Great Britain in the RS:X class at London 2012.
