It was another good week in Palma with a mixture of sailing, cycling and gym work... but, it's back to reality after being spoilt with the sun and fun at the training camp in in Mexico.
Palma was pretty wet! Well, very wet, windy and not particularly warm- it rarely got above 10 degrees. It was pretty intense with tough days trying to fit everything in but it was worthwhile worthwhile though as I left feeling exhausted. I was pretty close to not leaving Friday afternoon as I got a bit carried away and got lost out riding my bike! But after a quick pack up and mad dash to the club, Scotland (aka Mark Andrews) dropped me at the airport just in time to make check in for my flight to Gatwick- ready for the Volvo RYA Dinghy Show, Alexandra Palace on Saturday.
I opened the show on Saturday with fellow Team Volvo for life sailors Helena Lucas and Skandia Team GBR team mate Penny Clark (470 Sailor) and Sarah Gosling. I had a really fun day meeting all the kids and parents and chilling in the Volvo Bubble- it’s pretty cool! It was then back home to Weymouth for only the fourth day this year...
It was great to head out on the bike in the sun with the lads on Sunday round Portland but now, I’m really looking forward to a few days at home to recharge the batteries before heading back to Palma for some more Laser training.... ready for the Princess Sofia Regatta in April.
